Learning all about being Thankful

Friday was a fun end to a full month of Mary Bradford learning all about the pilgrims, Indians, and the feast they shared. They even made butter, dipped candles, made an old fashioned toy, and painted with feathers. She really liked watching a movie about the pilgrim William Bradford!

After school was over.....and OUR Thanksgiving holidays began (yay-out for a WEEK!) we headed to Mt. Cheaha to Nana and Pop's cabin and enjoy this.....

(view from the cabin's deck, so nice to see for miles and miles)

the girls love playing with cousin Jackson......and what a sweet boy Zingo game after Zingo game after Zingo game........

talking about making the smores and making the smores went over a lot better than actually "eating" them....but Brad and I sure enjoyed them!

We also celebrated Aunt Amy's birthday with a wonderful steak dinner. We are very thankful for such a fun weekend, thanks Nana, Pop, Aunt Amy, and Jackson!! We love you!

A VERY VERY Happy Halloween

I do not think Brad and I could have enjoyed the Halloween season with the girls any more than this year! We have had a blast every second from my grandmothers' fall festival at the Terrace....to fun at mimi's house with our sweet cousins..to Eastwoods fall FRENZY/Kindergarten Parade (and yes Gray really took to principal Mrs. Greer) ....followed by a really fun neighborhood hayride-trick-or-treating party, Princess Jasmine and the cheerleader/ballerina had SO much fun!

Fall Break

Fall Break was pretty low key for the Jackson girls after returning from Memphis. However, we did manage to fit in a few "need to blog about it" moments. Gray and I tagged along with Kristen and her boys to see Veggie Tales LIVE in Huntsville. They have such a great message...and very entertaining too! Pics are not great due to a little girl who did a lot of jumping, climbing, dancing, and a WHOLE lot of talking! Thanks Taylors for such a fun day!

thought this one was PRICELESS!

....so as if that was not enough fun......Daddy comes home all PUMPED up and in a very festive HALLOWEENEY mood.....for those who do not know, Brad is a big fan of the pumpkin carving. It is all we can do to make him wait until mid October to get his hands on one. Think he was hoping at least one of the girls felt the same....nice try.....

However, NOT so much......

poor Daddy....and his dramatic little girls!

Congratulations Allison and Blake

Brad and I took Mary Bradford to Memphis to Allison's wedding over the weekend. I am so glad she got to see one of the sweetest rehearsal dinners and ceremonies I have ever been a part of, in fact, it was very hard for her to part from Allison. As you can tell by the pics, she cried and held on to Allison when we had to leave. Blake and Allison we hope you are having a wonderful time on your trip and are so glad we got to be a part of your special day!

We dropped Gray off in Tupelo (even though Allison wanted her to be there too;mommy didn't think she could do rehearsal dinner AND a morning Mass ceremony..the little energizer bunny that she is!)But boy did she have a great time, never had a chance to miss us! A pumpkin bday party with one of Charlotte's friends, and Aunt Leigh Ann and Uncle Reagan were even kind ("brave") enough to take them to Starkville to see the Bulldogs beat VANDY!! She has not stopped talking about what fun she had! Thanks so much Wises for letting Bug tag along!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Even though we had to wait for you (sorry you had a late workday) it did create extra time to design several homemade cards!....the girls were thrilled to see and celebrate your big 36th birthday tonight! What a wonderful daddy you are with a special smile and really big hugs .....we love you so much!!

Only question was as we sang and blew out the candles......little Gray said, "But daddy where are all your friends and presents?"....

1st field trip to the...Pumpkin Patch!

I do not know what was going to be more exciting to Mary Bradford...her 1st field trip to Tate Farms (the best pumpkin patch complete with a corn maze, petting zoo, a few rides, etc.) OR the actual BUS RIDE? It was a toss up during our conversation on the way to school for SURE! What a FUN day!!

Family Beach Trip

We just returned from another Fun-Filled Mimi & Gandy beach trip.....Never a dull moment with the 6 cousins 6 and under! All the kids had a ball, it's so much fun to see them all really enjoy one another and play until they were absolutely POOPED! The beach was perfect no crowd and clearest water ever. Didn't get many pics with all the adults...but had to share a few (and yes I cut it WAY down) of the precious cousins. We love you all....and are already missing you!

So FAR, So GOOD...NO more thumb

I guess 3rd time's a charm....after 2 previous attempts (one I borrowed that worked for a friend on her 3 boys, then 1 I read about and purchased on my own.....)I have finally discovered the miracle to make my baby quit sucking her thumb. No, I am not happy, however, YES I wanted her to have a full head of hair one day. When she picked up the habit of not only twirling but YANKING her hair out as she sucked her thumb 2 weeks ago I knew I had to get SERIOUS! She's been my little thumb sucker since she was about a month old....and I have loved it.....but all good things must come to an end (so you can have that ponytail you talk about all the time little bug!)....We started on Saturday so today is day 4 and even though bed time, nap time, and in between times too have been EXTRA rough, it's working!! As we head to the beach Thursday I hope all the cousins, mimi, and gandy will be ready for our big girl who no longer needs that thumb! You may be a bit of a handful, but we sure are proud of how well you are doing!

I did have to include some sweet memories of the love you had for your thumb....no matter where you were it was a pretty special part of the first 3 1/2 years of your life! and pretty cute too......

PTA open house

We really enjoyed Eastwood Open House this week....from the neat scavenger hunt in her classroom that Mrs. Hand had us do, to the computer lab (with Graybug typing right-along-side sissy), to the music room (where we ran into one of Mary B's friends)she did not want us to miss a thing. Mimi, mommy, daddy, and gray could not have been more excited to be there!

A treat from Nana and Pop

Nana and Pop stopped by Thursday for a visit after school. Mary B. and Nana have birthdays just a few days apart so we had to do a little more celebrating. Gray even got a little happy too, the girls were so excited to see them! Then on Friday after school they took the girls to the Westin at Bridgestreet....shopping, swimming, and even a pedicure by Nana.....all of their favorite things!! Thanks Nana and Pop for a fun spend-the-night treat!!
